Default 2007 Honda Accord Brake Groan?

We recently changed our brake pads and rotors for $275, I told my dad to do it at dealer because its a new car and they would do it a lot better. but they were charging $500

anyway, now when we apply the brakes, at low speeds like from one intersection to another, it GROANS.

I took it to the mechanic today and strangely the car was not making noise, I presume that the brakes were heated and because of that they weren't making any noise.

Now the GROAN is back?

could it be the brake pads, I do know that he did not use OEM parts.

aftermarket pads are cheaper for a reason, they are cheaper quality.

I get this all the time. I recomend brake work and the customer goes elsewhere. Then they come back a week later complaining about aftermarket parts. Drives me up the wall !!!

3 biggest problems with aftermarket pads, they are noisy, don't last as long, and will warp rotors

If the noise really bugs you then I would start with replacing the pads with honda oem pads, but mind you the rotors could also be the problem

Mark down when the noise hapens and some details (ie what time of day, how long had the car sat before driving, how many miles did it take before the noise started). That will help the technician recreate the noise and solve the problem.

There are some good quality aftermarket pads out there that won't be noisy. But yes, cheap pads and rotors will deliver poor results.

its definitely the brake pads, either they're not fitted well or they just suck

if the mechanic said they're premium pads or something, NO never listen to them....they'll just buy some random pads and do their job.

do brakes at dealer next time not at cheap mechanic, its worth paying the extra money at dealer sometimes.
