Default Is it worth it to Turbo a d16y8?

I have a 2000 honda civic with a stock vtec d16y8. I want to get a turbo for it but I know there is a lot that goes into that. I was also thinking about getting a b18c1 swap and then eventually getting a turbo for that. If I can i'd love to save on money but still have a fast reliable car. Let me know your opinions. Thanks

I asked a question for an answer to the question. Not someone telling me to get a new car or anything, i didn't see mention of that being an option.

it is not worth it to turbo anything that is not meant to be a turbo, it is expensive, and then unreliable. My advice is to buy a car with a turbo in it from factory unless you are looking for a very big project, and really love the car and don't want another.

all these people are ignorant haters of honda power. They dont realize cars like subaru STI or audio turbos are 4cylinder turbos. If you install everything properly and take care of the car like your suppose to anyway, its just as reliable as any car. Plus hondas are known to be reliable and because they are so light they fly with a vtec turbo at 9k rpm. Just switch to the B18 cause the parts are easier to get, cheaper, and has a stronger engine.
