I own a '97 Catera and I had a starter put on it. I was charged 650 bbbucks. I started stuttering and haven't stopped. Your car is newer but my car is a Cadillac. It will cost probably no less than 400. Unless you have someone put a salvaged part on it. Good luck finding someone to do that.

Anywhere between about $200 and $600, depending on the source of the starter. The labor is about $100 and if you get a rebuilt starter you can expect to pay that over and over - rebuilt starters and alternators have horrible reputations for reliability, and the warranty does not cover labor. A genuine Honda starter is mighty pricey, but any new OEM starter will do the job.

I am surprised that your 8 year old starter is bad, though - Honda starters have a life expectancy about double that. My daughter's 1993 Accord has the original starter at 250K miles. Be sure you really need a starter before springing for a replacement that can't hold a candle to the original.
