can an 1999 honda acord vtec engine fit in a 1996 honda civic?

I would think it's too big, way too big.

ignore the first guy, he knows nothing about cars and doesn't understand that their size difference is only about 500cc. yes, it should fit, but you probably need to fabricate engine mounts, and you'll need the ECU from the Accord. Honda motor swaps are very common and some of the easiest to perform, you shouldn't have too much trouble.
