I don't know about the sound system options in the newer Civics, but Honda generally makes good cars.I owned a blue '93,and my daughter currently owns a customized white '95.There are tons of custom parts and wheels for Civics.

195 horsepower is quite a bit,for a small car like that.

Personally,I always liked the Honda Civic CRX's,which are an older model than what you are asking about.

Whether you get a Honda or not, have fun car shopping.

I agree with the other person you seem pretty spoiled because I don't know any parents that buy their kid a brand new car especially their first car knowing that you might wreck it and who is going to pay mommy and daddy. Also 197 hp isn't bad, that's pretty good but for a new car maybe it is. I have a 2000 Honda Prelude that I bought at the dealership 2 years ago and it's my first car. I bought it when I was 19 years old but before that I drove my dads Suzuki. The prelude is a 2 door car and it's a really nice car. It handles great, looks great, has 200hp stock, has vtec engine and is probably one of the fastest 4 cylinder cars out there. You won't be able to afford this though unless your dad buys it for you. They go for about $10-$12 grand and the insurance is high for one but I love it because it's a rare car and no teenagers drive them because it's out of their price range but you should start off with a 1999 or 2000 civic. Your first car shouldn't be a brand new car but the civic will be good on gas and reliable. That's about it for the pros because I hate civics and everybody has one but the cons are they are usually pretty ugly and don't have a lot of power and are slow. If you did get the brand new civic my stock 2000 Honda Prelude would smoke you in a race any day. Good luck!

No they don't come with any subwoofers or any thing nice in the stock audio system, just the stereo and speakers.

There's really no downside to that car, but your 15...The mass majority of 15-17 year old new drivers crash their car within a year or two. Your better off spending way less money on an older used Civic, if it's only the Si you want consider a 1999-2000 Civic Si or the 2002-2005 Civic Si Hatchback. There's a lot of Civic options out there from 1992+ that can be really nice cars and bought at cheap prices. Everyone I know has been in an accident with their first car, a couple of them the cars were totaled (one of them was a 2008 Civic Si coupe). Young teens get the cars, they think the can handle it and then just like that the car is destroyed. And just causes it's cheaper or used that doesn't mean it's a crappy car, just means you have more money to do whatever you want with it. Believe me, being a student, car payments along with insurance payments can be a hassle.
