Question 03 Honda Civic will not start

I came back from the store, turned off the alarm, tried to restart the car, the alarm went off, and it won't start. I tried it several times and all I hear was this weird clicking noise coming from behind the steering wheel. My friend came over to jump-start the car, but all I heard was the starter and engine cranking slowly and then stops. The battery seems to be working; however, I cannot remember how many years it has been since I replaced it. I am worried that the immobilizer was acting up because I see the blinking green key light on the panel after attempting to start. I also see other lights coming up on the panel, "maint req", battery, and engine while trying to start. I had an after market alarm system installed about five years ago. Right now, whenever I try to set the alarm to go off, it will cut in and out. Also, when I disable the alarm, it doesn't chirp 3 times like it used to. This is just a big headache right now. If it's the stupid immobilizer, I'm gonna be riding bicycle to school for a few months.

Im not to sure about how the anit theft system works in new cars since i dont own one. I got manual door locks as an anti theft system. but im thinking its the immobilizer. I dont know how the programmed keys work and im probably wrong about this but mabey the battery in the key died and the car cant read they key mabey? but thats my best guess.

Update: I'm recharging my battery right now, if the battery was the problem, I will replace it. I am also thinking about checking the spark plugs and fuses. Hopefully it's as simple as replacing parts, otherwise I'm screwed. On the bright side, I will be in shape by riding my bycicle.

As in the ignition where I insert the key? God I wish it was as simple as that. It is so frustrating. I can't drive it right now and it messed up all of my summer plans. I tested all the fuses, I'm about to replace the battery, and hopefully, it works. If not, I'm just gonna wait until I have money to get it fixed and remove the car alarm because it doesn't really help.

Can you take the key apart? and the dust-off would go where you put the key in. see i dont have like a keyfob or a programmed key so ive never seen the inner workings of the programmed key but if its got a battery on the inside of it then replace that. and hey, getting ripped riding a bike is good for getting the buns and thighs toned.lol

Haha! I'm already seeing results. I feel more toned and I'm getting more attention from the ladies... I should get a sugar mama and have her buy me a new car. hahaha
