Default Repairing An ECU On A 88' Honda Civic DX, Do I Need To Reset Anything.?

If I Put Another ECU In My Honda Civic, Do I Have To Reset The ECU/Car With A "Timing Gun", Or Can I Reset The ECU/Car By Just Unplugging The Hazard Fuse For 10 Seconds As If I Would Have To Do If Any Other Troubleshooting Problem Occurs ??

usually you need to do an 'idle relearn procedure' so that the car 'learns' where the idle should be. to do that, turn all electrical equipment OFF (lights, a/c, stereo etc) and warm the engine to normal operating temp. then shut the car off. then start it and let it idle for 10 minutes. if the radiator fan comes on you have to stop and re-do. you can get around that by pulling the radiator fan relay. or putting a box fan on top of the engine if you think its too hot to run the engine for 10 minutes without the fan coming on.

hope that helps
