Default How to convert a obd1 engine to obd2?

ok i have a 99 civic si and i need a motor im thinking about buying a b16a2 or b16a1 its a obd1 and my car is obd2 and the motor is from 92-95. Would that fit in my car without any problems or having a check engine light? i kno they have a adapter but it only plugs in ECU and idk if i need anything else plugged in besides ECU? I have called bunch of honda dealerships and they all gave me different answers. so plz help me out and give me a straight answer for this problem.

You would need to replace all of the sensors, all of the wiring, add about a dozen new sensors your pre 95 engine doesn't have and you still would probably have less than 1/2 of the functionality of OBD2.

The point is you could probably buy an ODB2 engine for less money than it would cost to convert an OBD1.

just get a b16a2 which is from 99-00 civic si

you can still get the obd1

all u have to do is use the obd1 engine harness

buy a obd2-obd1 ecu jumper harness

buy a p30 ecu

or get a p28 and chip it

thats about it
