Default 2010 civic ex lets me take key out when its not in park?

My key will come out while its in drive or reverse, i had a 2003 civic before this one and it used to not let me take the key out until it was in park. is this a problem?

It's not what I would call a serious problem. Is it normal? No. The ignition interlock is broken on your car and if it is still under warranty you should be able to have it fixed at your local Honda dealer for free.
