In a stock Civic ... no matter if it's a DX, CX, HX, EX, etc .. you will "NOT" have either of these motors. You find those two on Integra's and JDM Civics.
However, you can tell which one you have by looking on the front side of your motor next to where it meets the transmission. If it's clean you should be able to see which one you have. An easy way to tell the difference between the B18 & B16 is the valve cover. They're very different. Also, there's hoards and hoards of information online about all Civic motors. |

B18 is a 1.8L DOHC engine in integra's, B16 is a 1.6L DOHC engine that was put in the 99-00 Civic Si and a couple years of the Del Sol. In 98, there weren't many engines available, just the base D16 and the VTEC version in the EX models from my knowledge. These are both 1.6L SOHC engines.
