Default Honda Accord SiR 2000 auto Transmission slipping in reverse (sometimes)

Just imported a SiR from Japan, 82,000km's on the clock. Mechanic who certified said the car ran really nicely and only needed a new battery. I drove the car (for the first time) to the battery shop and got the battery replaced and alt tested with multimeter.

When I reversed it rev'd slightly over and was moving back slowly but reving too much for the speed. I changed it to neutral and moved it to reverse again, and it engaged normally and i reversed out.

Over the last 2 weeks it has been doing this every now again in the morning when pulling out of my driveway maybe 20% of the time? When i put in reverse it firstly engages and starts to pull back on its own. But when i accellerate it's when it starts to slip. Driving forward the car is fine, no issues and no slippage at all as far as I can tell.

IT has been sitting around for around 4-5 months before i got it, and the fluid is full but dirty.

I took it to a transmissiong specialist and he will be flushing and and adding additive tomorrow to see if It will help. Im hoping not to change the transmission as I have already spent too much cash on this car already, and I would hope to keep this car as I really enjoy it!

Any help or suggestions would be great. Im freaking out on the possibility of replacing transmission.
