none of the Honda automatic transmissions have filters that can be changed. to service the transmission you simply remove the drain plug, drain the oil pan and put about 3 quarts of new Hondamatic fluid in. if you want to get all of the trans fluid out, you'll need to do it about 4 times, running the car briefly (like a lap around a block) between changes to circulate the fluid through the torque converter.

do not flush the transmission as the chemicals in the flush can damage the internal seals and cause leaks.

hope that helps

It has a "strainer" inside the transmission. The only thing you can do without removing the tranny is draining the fluid, wipe the metal shavings off the magnet on the drain plug, and refill it with (usually) 3 quarts of Honda ATF-Z1 (DONT use any other kind of fluid!)
