Default Honda Prelude 92 Air conditioner not working?

my 92 honda prelude has stopped running air conditioning, i push the button in and the light doesn't even turn on, the air conditioning doesn't even work any more. i have played with all the settings and nothing makes a difference, i can't even de-fog my car when it rains! i just got it back from getting the clutch done by my stepdad, everything else on it works fine except for the air con, and i don't think he disconnected anything when he was working on it, but does anybody know what this could be caused by so i can ask him to investigate it?

Check if he disconnected anything. The fact that you don't think he did is meaningless. After that check system pressure. The is a switch that prevents the system from even turning on if it is low on freon. You can bypass the switch for a few seconds to see if your compressor will run even if it's low on freon..

If your car still uses R-12 you will need to convert to R134. Freon R12 is ridiculously expensive since they stopped making it about 10 years ago.

Check fuse box for burn fuse ;
You may have two fuse boxes one in the cabin
the other under the hood in
the Engine compartment.

Howard just said check the low pressure switch ;
That's right, but the AC fan should be working
or it's pointless to check the low Freon pressure switch.

It's a good point, but unless the AC fan Not working No help.

If the fan working then while AC working
approach the receiver / dryer in it
U'll see a plug / switch pull it out put in it wire with its heads stripped.

U should see the compressor clutch engages.

Best regards & thnx for Howard for his help.[/
