-more light output

-longer bulb life

-lower current draw

-more durable to shock and impact

-cooler operating temperature

-Increased initial cost

-need time to warm up

All kits install the same way, what makes a good kit, is a quality ballast, there is a variety of things that make good ballasts, and im not about to write a technical article on it.

Avoid ebay, like the plague. People selling good kits, like myself, do not list there because the market is flooded with garbage hid kits and we cant compete by offering better kits at higher prices. The general public just doesnt know the difference.

ALL HID KITS are made in china, the fact that an hid kit is made in china has nothing to do with it being good or bad.

Philips DOES NOT MAKE HID CONVERSION KITS, philips kits you see for sale are fake, and also made in china.

Stay away from analog ballasts with only a 10 amp max handling capability, they have a tendacy to fail, it will say "input max 10a" better ballast will have 20 amp capability.

All brands are seller brands, ultimately the ballasts are coming from several manufacturers, it is impossible to recomend a brand, but i will say a quality ballast is much more important than a quality bulb.

I have quality sets for sale, email me if you would like info.

More light outputs (apx 3200 lumens VS 1000 lumens for the halogen)

Longer Lifetime: 2500 hours VS 400 hours.

Better Look

Less power used (35w VS 55w)

Less heating

A bit more expensive.

To get a decent HID kit, with decent ballasts, paying under 100$ might not be the solution. Although at

You can get digital and slim ballasts with a 5 years warranty for about 109.99$ shipped.
