You may start by putting gas in it and if it starts after you put gas in it you will have your answer. I suggest before you put gas in it you check all the hoses that connect to everything under the hood and if any hose is not connected then connect it. It is possible that a hose carrying gas may be loose or torn and were you to loose gas around the engine the car may catch on fire. Safety first always pays. If it isn't the gas, it may be the timing or the starter, but if the car sounds as though it may start when you turn on the ignition but doesn't kick in, the logical problem is lack of gas. Good luck. I wish you a happy new year.

I got a 95... had this trouble this Monday.. it wouldn't start and really you would've thought the gas tank was empty but it was full so that wasn't the trouble. We and the mechanic all knew that it had either jumped time (even though we had a new timing belt in February it could happen randomly) or the distributor cap was bad.... after the mechanic looked at it, it was the distributor cap thank god! (cheaper) As long as you got gas in the car.. it's probably one of these two things that is wrong with it. I feel for you! It really sucks.. we are having all kinds of other things go wrong now that the distributor cap has been replaced.. it costed us 90 dollars... 60 of it was just labor. Then a timing belt can be from 250-350 usually.. I hope you figure it out, I'd suggest getting a mechanic to confirm what the problem is but I would almost bet it's one of these two just from you saying it sounds like it dont have gas.

An engine needs two things to run.........fuel and fire.As for fuel,"when is the last time the filter was replaced?" Now for fire,"is the coil in the distributor cap?""do you have the original plugs?""Have you checked all wiring and connections back to fuse box/battery?"If your car has coil in cap arrangement (defective/burnt coil?)(arcing in cap)you're in luck.JEGS sells a tune up kit for this model(ACCEL HST-2)Includes Cap/Rotor/hot coil and all four ignition wires around $125! Try using stock parts at that price! If you do need ignition parts, consider this upgrade.MUCH better idle,One more MPG,and maybe 1 to 3 more HP.If it's the fuel filter,Go with a New FRAM

If there is gas in the tank and no fuel pump operation, main relay is the culprit, common on Honda products,it controls PCM and fuel pump operation.
