Default 1993 Honda Civic rough running?

My 1993 honda civic was running rough and i changed the plugs, cylinder 2 was fowled and cylinder 3 was detonated the other two were fine. the new plugs made it run a little bit better but not enough. i checked the position of the distributor and that was in the right position. then i parked it and the next morning the car won't start so i pulled the distributor and checked it but it was damp inside under the dust shield so i let it dry out, put it back on put on good plug wires and the thing still won't start. now when the car was running it wasn't pulling a check engine light. so i have no idea

you need to determine if the car does not have spark or if it is a fuel supply problem. either could be the case.

if you have someone crank over the engine as you hold the spark plug end of a plug wire about 1/8" from a ground (such as a bolt on the exhaust manifold or valve cover) you should see a spark. If you don't then you don't have spark. chances are that a bad ignition coil is the cause if you don't have spark provided that the cap is clean and the rotor is good.

if you have spark, then you may have put the cap on 180 degrees off(?) or that the plug wires are not in the right order or the wires are crossed.

my guess is you'll find you don't have spark.

if you do, then you may not have fuel. you should hear the fuel pump run when the key is turned ON. it should run for about 5 seconds and shut off. if you don't hear it run you could have a bad main relay or a bad pump. the main relay is the cause 98% of the time the fuel pump doesn't run.

if you hear the pump run, you could have a clogged fuel filter.

so in order of probability, the ignition coil would be the highest provided the cap and wires were installed correctly, that you don't have spark and that the cap is not cracked. then it would be the main relay if you have spark and don't hear the fuel pump run followed by the fuel pump. lastly, it would be the fuel filter if you have spark and the fuel pump runs.

hope that helps
