Default honda accord overheating above 55 mph?

my 1997 honda accord 4 cylinder is over heating at anything above 55. at 65 it is between med and hot. at 70 it moves close to hot. what could it be i have a nealry new radiator, coolant is fine, oil is fine????????????

So drive 55 until you solve it.































Most likely it's your thermostat.































But it's not like going 70 vs 55 will actually get you to your destination that much faster. So just cruise for a while, and you'll be fine.

Check the lower hose. Does it have an anti collapse spring in it? Check it when the engine is cold in the morning. If you can squeeze the hose together it doesn't have one. The water pump pulls water from the radiator through the lower hose. At higher speeds the flow gets strong enough that the hose can collapse if it doesn't have the spring in it. They come in the original hose and should be transferred if the replacement hose doesn't have one, but sometimes people forget or don't know to do it.

You could have a bad water pump or a clog radiator. Water cannot circulate properly in your system.Check also your thermostat it might not be working properly. Hope this helps!
