Man, if you can afford a new accord you've got some mad cash. Stick with the Civic. The Accord has gotten too expensive. The civic is has gotten better to and is now what the accord used to be 10 years ago.

Give him an old Civic. My parents are loaded and my first car was an old beat up VW. it helps keep you humble. I'm 25 now, and through 2 other cars since then. I just bought my first Lexus, and i saved up enough of a down payment to tell them what options I wanted. Having your first car not be a super sweet ride helps you better develop your personality. My brother had a nice car for his first car. His car's are what makes his personality. Ya, i have a Lexus and girls love it, but its my car, its not me.

if its a new one, do the civic. good gas mileage, lol. and ya, not so expensive. he's probably gonna hit something or something will hit him.

accord is better cause everybody else has a civic. accord still easy to get parts and repair but its a higher level of class than the civic.

their both good vehicles to own and drive,if you,ll look around you,ll see a lot of either of those on the road, its really a matter of preference as to which one you like the best because both are good vehicles to own and drive, good luck on which ever one you decide to get,

they're both really good cars, if your looking for a nice sporty look go for the civic. it looks sportier, and had millions of mods. If you're looking for a more grown up look and maybe more stock horsepower go for the accord. if you're looking for something you can tune, mess with and mod id go for the civic. I myself have a 97 civic i just lowered, and I'm looking to mod. In the end they're both really good cars, excellent for a first car, it just depends what your in to, if having a custom car, isn't for you, and you want something more mature then go for the accord, although for the price the civic is a lot cheaper, but if you have the money go for it, you pay for what you get.

Both are reliable car. But i suggest you get a civic. More practical, economy wise. Hope this helps!
