Go with the Civic, you can't go wrong with Hondas. They're reliable, they drive great, and they're great on gas.

Just keep in mind that Honda Civics are in the top 10 list of most stolen cars, so the insurance can be pricey

My friend has owns a 2008 Civic EX Coupe with a 5 spd stick. He uses it as his daily driver, and he drives it HARD. He's had no problems whatsoever with it, and he's very pleased with its fun-to-drive nature.

Resale value of Civics (like every other Honda in the world) is higher than average, which is also great to know if you ever plan on trading the car in, like my friend, who will be trading his Civic in for a VW Jetta GLI.

Since Mommy and Daddy are probably paying for this, they should be the one to ultimately decide.

Civic will be cheaper to insure, maintain, and purchase.

Something tells me you are just going to rice the shit out of whatever you get and will put it into a wall trying to do something beyond your driving capabilities, so what does it matter what you get?
