Hi, I need to find out the engine size of my honda civic so that I can get a new alternator and I can't figure out where to find it. Can someone help me? VIN# JHMEG8653PS014847

1. That's not your VIN, as it's not complete.















2. If you google your VIN, or use Carfax's free search, it will tell you what engine size you have....so you actually don't need our help at all.

You'll find a sticker under the hood. look for engine family code and you will find a part of that code that makes sense like 1.3,1.5, 1.6 etc.

that VIN tells me its 92-95 civic, an EG8 four door saloon, so it has the (or is most likely to have) a 1.5 litre engine (engine code D15B2 @ 89BHP). engine depends on country car was made for, i think the eg8 is japan, (japanese import) but could be wrong. The VIN starts with 'J', so was made in japan, but not necessarily for the japanese market.































if your still unsure go to a free vaulation website (whatcar, for example) and type in number plate, should tell you your engine size.

Well from looking at your VIN# it seems like you have a 1992-1995 Honda Civic DX or LX 4 door. That model came stock with the D15B7 engine which is a 1.5 liter. If you go to a parts store just give them the make, model, & year of your car and they should be able to find the right parts for you.

The stamp on the left side of the exhaust manifold on the engine block will give you the engine code. Not that it matters--all the alternators will work on it. D15B2, D15B7, and D16Z6 can all be integrated.

A simple Google search would have rendered you the same results.
