Default how does the computer module work in a 1991 honda crx?

I understand it blinks but how do i go about finding how to find out what it means

In the source, the info is on pages 18-25 of the pdf (pages numbered 15-22 at the bottom). The pages in the beginning have a lot of good background and general information, though.
