Default 2003 Honda Accord Anti-Theft Code Won't Work.?

I just replaced my battery, which activated the anti-theft device on my radio. That is fine, I still had my card with the password. But when I entered it, it did not work. I just typed it in using the preset button numbers, but it kept giving me an error message. What did I do wrong? Did I miss a step?

you get 3 chances to enter the code correctly; after that, the radio thinks you're not the owner and goes into lock-out mode for 24 hours.

you can do one of two things. you can either disconnect both battery cables and hold the disconnected terminal ends together for 3 minutes then reconnect the battery or you can go into the underhood fuse and relay box on the passenger side rear of the engine compartment and pull the "back up" fuse and leave the fuse out for 3 minutes. either will clear the memory of the failed entry attempts and put the "code" message back when you turn the key ON afterwards. if you still get the error messge you need to do the cable end bit as that gets rid of any residual voltage in the system.

hope that helps

You can also take it to Honda and have them unlock it if your code still doesn't work. Sometimes the code can be found on the back of the stereo, which is where mine was...or just buy a better one.

u have the card, hopefully the number matches the code on the side of the glove box- open and check. U can call Honda's customer service no. to see what they say. they may be able to help. I had no idea where the code was and gave em my VIN and they read off the code- and explained where to find it.
