No, not every Honda engine has VTEC.

And unless it says it does, it doesn't.

Not that VTEC is really that great of a thing, anyway. Unless you plan on driving at 5,000rpm+ all the time.

Not every civic has vtec. Most EX models come with vtec and lx, dx non-vtec, however there are some lx i seen with vtec. You really dont need vtec as its usually a 5 to 10hp difference and provides more engine torque.

no, the civic in the ad doens't have VTEC. none of the 1.4 D-series engines have VTEC. VTEC is worth having though, that is if you want performance. Both the 92-95 (EG), and the 96-00 (EJ/EK), do have VTEC editions, the 92-95 being the 1.5 vti, and the JDM import 1.6 VTEC ViRS, and the 96-00 being either the 1.5 VTEC, the 1.6 VTEC VTI/VTI-S (B16 engine) or other 1.6 VTEC models (less powerful d-series engine).

the engine will say 'VTEC' on the rocker cover if it has it. VTEC swaps to a second camshaft at VTEC engagement (about 5,500rpm) and allows for variable valve timing, and creates smoother, more efficient fuel/exhaust flow to and from the cylinders, resulting in better performance and at the same time better fuel economy as less fuel is wasted.

No. Not all have VTEC. From the 1992 to 2000 Civics the ones that have VTEC would be SiR, Si, VTi, Vi & Type R

That engine you linked is a D15Z4. No VTEC in it.
