Default I have a '92 Honda Civic thats been parked for a few months and wont start?

It cranks and cranks but wont start and eventually it'll turn on but sounds like its running out of gas and turns off, what do you think the problem is?

its probably your ignition starter. or your battery. you might have like a fuse blown up i guess. my car does the same. but the prob with mine is you know where the fuse box is located, well the bolt thats connected to the box is cracked so i have to replace it. idk check that. other than that is prob your oil but i doubt it cause you would have known that

I am going to list the problems starting from most probable so it could be:

-Your battery since you have not started the car for quite some time your battery could be your problem

-alternator or starter could be your next problem so try hitting your starter with something a couple times as someone turns the ignition and gives it some gas

-Gas could be another reason and hopefully to your luck this is the one so check on this too.

-Electrical problem (which I left for last because if this is the case your going to have fun trying to find out what is the problem) if you get to this case I suggest using a tester. or check your fuse box. You can find one at advance or discount auto parts

Good Luck

there is a real good chance that the gas in the tank has gone 'stale'. if the car ran well before you parked it, then the only thing that would have changed is that the gas would lose its potency. it happens with lawn mowers that are put into storage over the winter all the time. the solution is to either drain and refill the tank or, if the tank has very little gas in it, just add about 5 gallons of premium fuel.

if the car didn't run well when it was parked then you'll need to go through the regular trouble shooting. if the fuel pump isn't running, check the main relay. if the fuel pump runs (you should be able to hear it run for about 5 seconds by putting your ear near the fuel filler pipe with the fuel cap removed and then having someone turn the ignition key ON) then look to a restricted fuel filter or a weak spark from a bad ignition coil.

Check the following;

1. spark plugs

2. rotor

3. ignition coil

4. bad wires

5. fuel pump

6. fuel pump relay

Have it check by a good Honda mechanic. Hope this helps!
