I bought a 95 Civic LX with a broken timing belt at a real low price. It has a D15B7 I believe. A couple of months back I pulled the engine out of a 98 Civic LX with a D16Y7. Would this engine work on the older EG civic? What would I need to get this going? I simply want to turn around my investment and get my money back. Both cars Automatic and non-vtec. Any suggestions would help. thank you

Yes it could fit, but since the 92-95 Civic is OBD I(D15B7) and the 96-00 is OBD II (D16Y7),















































you'll need an OBD1 wire harness (92-95 civic), OBD I distributor, OBD I alternator, and OBD I injectors. OR you could cut and splice you OBD1 harness to the OBD2 dist/alt/inj plugs,















driver side EG (92-95) mount. also use the P06 ECU out of the 92-95 Civic (OBD I).

i personally would just keep it D15B7 because its easier to swap in... and there isnt much of a performance jump.... they are both motors which came in the DX's/LX's (base models, both being non-vtec) if i were you i would try to swap the D16Y7 to a junk yard or engine re-builder for a D15B7 the price isnt much and i think the D16Y7 is worth more money.
