A fluctuating idle is most likely the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). If it becomes clogged or dirty it will cause the idle to jump around after the car warmed up.
Here's a guide on how to clean it: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread...+control+valve If the car only idles oddly before it warms up then it's your Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FITV) Here's a guide for that as well: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread...+control+valve Use CRC Brake Cleaner or CRC Throttle body + Intake cleaner (Just don't get it on any sensors). Overheating could be a problem with the thermostat, a fan not operating, air in the cooling system, etc... Start by bleeding the cooling system and getting rid of those air pockets if there are any. The Idle Air Control valve will cause idle fluctuation. Generally it does this when it isn't getting sufficient coolant flow, generally due to being low on coolant. Being low on coolant would also cause your overheating. So I would check/fill your coolant.
