If you changed it yourself, call the dealership nearest you and ask the service dept. how to reset the code. Every make of car is different. If you took it somewhere they should have done it for you. It is usually very simple. I'd just call the service dept.

Read owner manual,it is in there.Have to reset it to 100% right after every oil change.Turn ignition oil, push select button until oil life shows, hold reset button down and keep holding it until it says 100% then let go the button.

Either you or who ever changed the oil did not reset the oil change computer. The car still thinks it has the old oil and filter on it.
If you have an owners manual it will tell you how to do this. Our 1999 Accord does not have an oil maintemce life monitor. It does have a maintence required light with factory preset mileage times it goes on. To reset it we turn the igniton to #2 and hold the trip reset button until it resets. If this does not help go to local Honda Repair shop and they will show you how to reset it. |

You have to reset your oil life indicator after you do an oil change. Here's how you do it.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. 2. Press the SEL/RESET button repeatedly until the engine oil life indicator is displayed. 3. Press the SEL/RESET button for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink. 4. Press the SEL/RESET button for more than 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100%. |
