Default Need advice on what to do next performance wise on Honda.?

Its a 1998 Honda Civic Lx, i have my racing headers with full exhaust system, Direct cold air intake, Ground wire kit, and racing ignition wires. All i can think about it is like new fuel injectors with fuel rail, and expensive turbo. What els is there besides those that would help me? Post ideas and thank you very much.

Making your car lighter(removing seats, excess weight, etc)

cleaning out your throttle body, air intake, combustion chamber(aka fuel injection service)

get gauges before you get a turbo, because they look so cool it seems like your car is faster.

Upgrade your throttle body and intake manifold.

Also get a new flywheel. The ACT Streetlight flywheels (around 11.9lbs) do really well in daily cars. Any lighter and the ride may be a bit uncomfortable. Also get a stage 1 clutch kit which is good for lightly modded cars, stage II is okay also.

Another thing to do is upgrade the suspension, stock just isn't gonna cut it if you plan on going farther with the car.

After those I'd move to engine internals starting with valves, valve springs, and a new camshaft.

Edit: I didn't think about until now but since your running on a D16Y7 (106hp stock) another good option is to switch over to a more powerful D series motor or move on to the better B series motors. That's if your up to a swap of course.

Get a set of shocks and springs, or coilovers. Get sway bars. these are pretty cheap and will greatly improve the handling and your control and mildly your acceleration and braking. theyll also make the car look way better!

frankly i would sell what you have and put it towards a turbo. but a new fuel/ign management setup, bigger T body, and perhaps a aggressive cam would help. if you want to spend money and get real power from it its best to at least consider a super/turbocharger. you will do more with 5 pounds boost on an otherwise stock engine than you will get with all the NA upgrades you can afford usually. you can't go just halfway with supercharging though, you need to commit to it and its burdens.

i should disclose im not much of a honda buff, so its likely others will have better advice from experience. but a little garret turbo will really make those scoot if the engine is set up for it.

The motor that you have will not cut it. If you thinking of keeping all your old upgrade. I prefer getting a single over head cam Vtec head and do a Mini-me conversion. Since your is only a LX. LX doesn't come Vtec. Or not that, swap to any B series motor will differently see power difference. I prefer a B16b off a Civic Type R, or B18c5 off an Integra Type R.

Since you already have headers for your car, going turbo, your header will be useless. If you decide to keep your headers, and wants power when you need it. A Nitrious system will do. An 80 shot NOS system will be good. Nitrious is good when you need the power rite there, but if you don't it will run normal. I recommend an Ignition system upgrade an MSD 6AL or Digital 6. I prefer the Digital 6 because it come built in with two step rev limiter, and retard/advance control for Turbo/NOS, and most importantly an cutoff switch so if its activite, the car can not be stolen.

In conclusion, if you want power when you needed, go Nitrous. Turbo will always kick in when at WOT and at above 2500rpm depend on size of turbo.
