I have a 97 del sol. The driver's side door has not been closing properly for a while - it appeared to hang a bit, but also seemed to be closed safely and able to be locked. Suddenly, all hell broke loose - the inside panel where the latch is just shattered (the inside door jam of the car, not the door). There is no structure left, so the door won't stay closed at all. This is the newest model of del Sol and it's 13 years old, so, as you can imagine, Honda doesn't seem to be too interested in getting involved in what I would consider a major safety issue.































I've googled and binged and lycosed and asked, but all I've found of people having a similar problem is one forum post. If anyone here has had the problem, I'd sure like to hear about it. Or if you know some trememdous resource where I can find other people's similiar problems, I'd really appreciate it.

It happens to all kind of cars when the hinge pins and bushings are ignored. If you have the old parts it can be welded.

Just goto a U-Pull-it and get yourself a new one. If you can fix it yourself, do it. If you can't just take it to a shop and pay for labor. It's an ez fix.
