I think the problem seems to be the engine. When I'm driving on the road the car is in normal speed, then it just drops down and makes me have to step on gas a little bit harder.

It's just what happens in a car with only 125hp that weighs over 2800lbs. The engine must work harder to pull the weight up hill so there is a loss in power and torque. The engines also pretty old so after all these years it's not gonna be as strong as it once was.
