Its for Aerodynamics. It deflects the air from rushing inside the car.
Usually you have to open the sunroof all the way so the deflector in the front end of the opening will tilt and deflect the air. With the visor, you can open the sunroof halfway, all the way and the air is deflected all the time and it would not be too loud. |

Helps reduce noise in the cabin during high speeds by altering the flow of air. Plus at times during the day if you have the roof open and the suns overhead it works as a small shade against the sun.
I had one on my Civic but took it off cause I hated the look and the car looks so much better with it off. But there was a huge difference in noise at higher speeds, harder to hear my music now with the roof open but I've learned to deal with it. |
