Default If the car doesn't have airbags for safety, can we fit them later?

I am going to purchase second-hand car . This is my first time to purchase any car.

I found a good deal with HONDA CITY GXI.

It doesn't have airbags for safety purpose. I would like to have airbag in my car because I think that's the basic one should have.

So, is it possible to fit them in Honda CITY GXI ??

You could but unless you have got engineering and fabrication skills it would not be practicable or safe to do so

Not bloody likely. Such a system would require collision sensors, wiring, electronic signal filtering, integrated circuitry, explosives (yes, explosives), specialized steering mechanism, etc.

Next to the impossible, actually not practical. If done, the cost of the system will exceed the cost of what you paid for the car.Not only the air bags alone, but computer, sensors, wiring harness, dash board, steering column.

Post Re: If the car doesn't have airbags for safety, can we fit them later?

You had a good response in one of your earlier post. There are many components that make up the SRS airbag system. If the car is not equipped with the right wiring harness and sensor it would be a pretty big job to tackle if you had to retrofit these components from another car. Furthermore, airbags pack a strong punch when they are deployed if you size the car with high impact airbags you could hurt yourself or someone else. It is much easier and safer to buy a car that is equipped with the airbags already.

Good luck
