Red face d16y8 d15b7 ecu question

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a P2P ecu in a 97 civic ex that has a d15b7 block with a d16y8 head. If the knock sensor is not connected will the ecu prevent the car from starting at all. Do I have to use a P28 with a obd2 to obd1 jumper? Using a P2P should my car atleast start? There is a bolt in the block by the oil filter could i use that threaded part and rethread it for the knock sensor. its not used by anything else.
