Well, my dad is going to adjust the timing on my car, as that's the only thing left that's wrong with it. The thing is, even if he loosens the distributor (I believe that's what it is) it only moves so far. He didn't know if there was an easier way than taking apart the whole top of the motor.
1996 Honda Accord EX 4-Cylinder 2.2L VTEC Engine Thanks in advance! Well, now it's no longer the timing, it's throwing up a Cylinder 3 Misfire code. It's either the Distributor (or the little module/computer inside of it) or the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor. I'll post a new question on it, thanks for your help, though .

The only way that the engine timing can be done accurately is to use a "timing light" available at auto parts stores - anything else is just a guess and the motor will not operate correctly; tell Dad DO NOT remove the distributor or it will be a big headache to try and reinstall the proper way !!!

What he said is right and wrong. There is a plug somewhere in the car that needs a jumper wire put in it to stop the car from trying to correct the timing. Then you can move the distributor to adjust the timing. Without installing the jumper wire the moving of the distributor will not do anything.
