Driving to work in my '96 Accord, lowered driver window to remove dew, closed window fine. Later lowered a couple of inches, then it wouldn't go up. Would still go down OK, just not up.
The window is now halfway open. All the rest of the windows work fine. The window has been going up slower and slower over the years. It never had a problem going down. Potential causes for:: no up, but OK down. Also, if I need new parts, can I switch them out from one of the back windows? |

Update on problem
Removed Main switch, disassembled so could get to contacts. They were pretty dirty. Did quick cleaning of contacts, reassembled, installed, but still no luck. With switch pushed to close, took screw driver and linked moving contact with stationary one, and window goes UP. Ran out of time to continue, but I hope I just need to clean contacts better, unless the moving one doesn't travel completely. |
