If you tried to do it manually and they still didn't lock then I dont' think the electric button is broken. It seems to me the mechanism behind the door might be jammed or the rod the moves the lock to lock may be broken.

You can easily take the front panel of your door off and check. It's not that hard to do.

Either the latch is bad and needs to be replaced or the door lock actuator must be replaced.

pull on the door handle like your opening the door(hold it in that position) and then press the lock button. that should do it.

i had an 93 civic and thats how i lock the doors without using the key.

Try to manually do it with your key on the outside if that works then you have some type of jam in the back and doesn't allow the electronic mecinishim to work. If it doesn't work then take off the door panels by removing the two screws and all connecting wires then look and see if anything is in the way or if it is even properly connected you may also want to check your fuses to see if it blew. if you have any questions go to the links i have provided.

Ya, I would try doing it manually with the key. It is probably a bad latch or mechanism.
