you dont need 3. if your not turbo bigger isnt always bettter you still need some back pressure there to create vacuum etc.

DO NOT do 3". That will be way too big, you will lost all of your back pressure and as a result all of your torque. I have a prelude and what I would reccomend is this. Go to 2.25 inch piping with one resonator. Go to a local exhaust shop (not a chain like minike, like a privately onwned shop.) Get it with a magnaflow hi flow catalytic converter. Then get a greddy evo muffler only, have him weld that on there. It will have a really nice, low tone. If you get dc ceramic headers it will give you good mid rpm gains while not taking away your low end torque. This set up will be similar to mine. It will be loud, low, and have a good low gurgle. If you want something that's quite and looks like a stock muffler, then buy a used s2000 muffler off of craigslist and have him weld that on. It will still flow well and have a pretty nice tone, and it will sounds great in the high rpms. Well that's my 2 cents based on my prelude exhaust experience.

Now the good thing about this option is that you can do it in steps. I wouldn't do the headers right away. Just do the exhaust. It should cost you about $350 if you get the s2000 muffler, and like $500 if you get a used greddy evo 2 or skunk 2 muffler

2.25 or 2.5 is the way to go dude... and so is D.C. SPORTS! their exhausts are amazing, they are the best by far, you won't be dissapointed, but you'll have to get one used. it's not that hard i got mine off civicforums for $230 shipped, so you should be able to find one no problem. people mod preludes just as much as civics, but i wouldnt go with anything larger than 2.5" and nothing other than D.C. SPORTS! good luck!

hey whats up andrew 1 thing dont get ceramic headers get a stainless steel header also the header needs to be a 3 inch outlet then get a 3 inch high flow cat then right after the cat go to a 2.25-2.5 inch pipe and then just run it to a 2.25-2.5 inch exhaust, do it right the 1st time so u wont have to change out the cat if u decide to go 3 inch later.
