Default My key won't go into the car door lock?

I have a 2005 Honda Accord DX value package, so i don't have automatic locks. When I tried putting my key into the lock on the driver's side, it wouldn't go in. I didn't want to force it, but i tried pushing it and then it just got stuck and I had to pull it out. I can't even get the key into the lock. I'm bringing the car into honda, but was wondering what do you think the problem is? and how much do you think it's going to cost me?

It goes into the passenger door. I know this because I have to open the passenger door and lean over to open the driver's door. It's been very annoying

wound up costing 250 to get the whole lock replaced. Luckily i was able to keep the same key, but still. Thanks!

sounds like somebody tried to pick open your door lock with a screwdriver or something else. can you use your key on the passenger side door lock?

sounds like you may need a new door lock. a new door lock is cheap, around $30.00 but if you want the new lock to match the old key, then the price will double.

bout $150 plus the lock cylinder....usually the techs will rekey for free to match your old key code. your tumblers are bad, but the lock cylinder is cheap enough to just replace and rekey. $30 sounds bout right

It's also possible that if you are not the first owner of the car, it could have been in an accident where the driver's side door was replaced with a scrap part. If the key cylinders were not switched out then your driver key would not work on the "scrap door". It would only work on the passenger side.

Very possible scenario.

The lock needs to be replaced. Can't help you with a price but call a locksmith and see.
