Default Will people laugh at me if i drive the 2009 honda fit sport?

I am a freshman in college so money for gas and stuff are pretty tight. I was wondering if it would be weird if i drive a fit. I am about 6 foot 3 and weight around 285 pounds. I use to play football but not anymore. I know its a pretty small car but i love how the car is so fuel efficient and how the interior is so functional. I know a lot of people might not agree but i think the fit looks pretty cool. So please give me your honest opinion plz.

I wouldn't, you should drive a car that is comfortable to be in. The more comfortable you are in the car the more confident you'll drive. There's always something like a used Civic, Accord, or Corolla for sale that have more room and offer pretty good gas milage. I drive an old 1995 Civic and it manages around 30mpg and it's very comfortable to drive vs those Honda Fits that average just a little more mpg.

Edit: And that's just my model, the DX and LX from those years can average over 40 City and 45 highway. IMO: Buy a used 4-door Civic LX or DX from 1993-2000 at a much lower price and you'll benefit from much higher MPG than the Fit, the insurance will also be less and it will be easier for you to save up for a car you'll really love driving in the future.

There's a heck of a lot of room in the Fit. I'd consider one, and I'm none too tiny myself.

And you're 6-3 and 285. If anyone gives you any guff, pound them into tapioca.

there's always going to be that group that will of course. there are other fuel efficient cars if you are bothered that much...but its not like your going to know these kids for the rest of your life its just going to be a few years plus its not like your entering it in a car show every time you drive on campus.

i have owned a honda fit for about 3 months now and i absolutely love it. I am also a freshman in college in SoCal and so far so good, no one has said anything about my ride. I have some after market parts on it to make it look cooler and give it some more hps last week i got into a hit and run accident on the freeway and my fit is now wrecked but it did serve its purpose and i got out without a scratch. The car is however totalled and having only liability on it, there is nothing insurance can do about it. Im looking in to buying the 2009 honda fit now. the other one i had was the 07.

hope this helps.
