I have the same kind of problem on a 99 civic d16y7 engine.

It start missfiring in 3rd cylindre, plus I notice the manifold being cracked (wich have not been fixed yet, thinking about a straight header instead).

I change the distributor cap along with rotor, spark plug and wires. Same.

Swap the 3rd and 4th cylindre's injector, problem stays in same cylindre.

At this point, don't know what else to check.

Well I had a garage look at the car and they said it was a head gasket and a bad oil ring on the number 3 cylinder

I wonder how a bad oil ring can cause such problem.... A head gasket maybe. I`m gonna check the timing on it as wall as the compression and see.
