i have a 93 hatch. and i was wondering the other day, can you put a turbo on a vtec engine with out chipping the ecu? im only gona run it 8lbs. another question is when i turn like out of my drive way, when i turn, it makes a grinding noise, what could this be? theres nothing in the way that the tire could rub against.

Yes, you can turbocharge a vtec engine without chipping the computer, however you have to install boost bleeder for the map sensor so it doesn't cut the fuel every time you enter into boost. As far as the grinding noise goes it could be the dust shield behind your brake rotor rubbing on the brake rotor itself, and if that is the case then you should also go about checking to see if the wheel bearing is bad. If it is a rubbing noise and not a grinding noise and it does sound like it is coming from the tire the tire could rubbing against the frame of the car inside the wheel well. Check inside of the wheel well for wear marks. Yes you can put a vtec head on a DX/LX block. I would recommend also swapping out the vtec oil pump. I believe you will also need to run a dedicated line to the head from the block as you would on a twin cam head swap, to supply the vtec system with the proper oil pressure to engage the vtec. Another issue will be the lack of power as the DX/LX blocks do not have the same compression ratio as the vtec blocks do.
