Default HELP DIAGNOSING PROBLEM!!!!

I need some help diagnosing a problem on a 2000 civic si.
ok so when i try to shift into ANY gear with the car on i can't do it.
i turn the car off and i am able to shift into any gear easily...my guess is it has nothing to do with the transmission....
there are times when i can shift into gears but the shift is very hard and as i release the pedal the car "jerks" as if the clutch is grabbing.
other times while holding the pedal down the clutch begins to engage on its own...i replaced the clutch master cylinder because it was leaking but i'm still having the same problems...ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
