Default Is my torque converter bad?

My car, a 2002 Honda accord LX automatic, makes a whirring sound when driving. Its even louder when climbing the slightest incline. A mechanic told me its the converter but I doubt it.

Does anyone have any idea whats causing this sound?

If you also feel a slight rumbling feeling from under the seat then it's the torque converter.
