My 1999 Accord with 4 cyl./4 speed automatic (120,000 miles) has a shifting issue that I can't seem to find similar postings on. Essentially, it has a lag of from 0.5 sec to as much as 3-5 seconds before shifting into drive after moving the shifter into D4 or D3. This can happen also when shifting from Drive into Reverse. Also, it will lag shifting into neutral at stop signs with about the same timeframe, then once I apply gas again, it will sometimes jerk into gear causing the car to lurch. Otherwise, it will pretty much shift fine from gear to gear while at cruising speeds. I was wondering if the shift solenoids might be failing, or if this might be a more serious issue? Anyone experiencing this before, please let me know your thoughts and/or fixes.
