honda never made a honda prelude type-r in there line up, but i have one. i read a article that said there are such things as them, but they where not off the line from honda, it said they where specially tuned by the japanese.
here is the article http://asia.vtec.net/topics/preluder.html pics of the car http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/DSC_0019.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/DSC_0018.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/DSC_0020.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/DSC_0021.jpg thank you guys for helping me figure this out. lol. i just wasn't possitive on if it was a real type-r or if there was no such thing. |

its the same thing with the mustangs...roush takes some and fixes it up and calls it a roush mustang....samething with the saleen.....
or you could say like tommy akira cars....they take cars and redesign it and call it what they want... --sorry i never bothered to look at the pictures....now that i have...its just a regular prelude with some ebay badges stuck on it...with a no name intake and some dc headers.... |

First guy is correct. Same goes with Foose design they put their name on the calipers decals and everything it only means that the modifications are done by Foose design not that the car is a Chevrolet Camaro Foose. Type-R is a designer as well as Foose I have seen this before but they are just decals and not part of a real Honda line up. Sorry dude your car isn't a Prelude Type-R its nice though take the decals off and buy some type -s so that it look legit.

uh..no you cant have one because they dont exist.not calling you a leir, just pointing a few things out, the prelude in that shape was earlier than 1997 (as you said 1992) the first type-r honda made was the ek9 civic type-r, not untill the ek9 in 1997 did type-r exist, so making it impossible! before they has vti, or si-r. honda make civics, accords, integras and nsx's in type-r. also the prelude pictured doesnt have 5-stud wheel hubs, as ALL genuine type-r's have, even the civics and that age it would be in nighthawk black or championship white. its easy to badge up a car as type-r. the engine bay is the original colour for preludes, suggesting the car has been re-srayed (non professionally, honda wouldnt skimp). furthermore if it were made by honda it would have bumper lips and spoiler different to the standard car......
honda and aftermarket tuning companies, such as spoon sports or mugen do make spec additions from time to time but that doesnt make it a type-r. its still a nice car, but sorry not a type-r! |
