i have a 96 accord lx 2.2 non vTECH automatic 211xxxk miles. what engine should i get to swap out?? i dont want a manual because i plan on putting a slap stick in when i upgrade. Or should i just upgrade part by part or just plain swap it out. shoot me some ideas please. let me know what u think.

Since you're gonna be spending serious cash here, If I were you I would look for a lower mileage, clean, old lady Accord to upgrade, and use the 96 as a parts car or beater. No sense putting a 3000 dollar engine in a car that might need a full suspension swapout, major exhaust work, saggy interior seats, loose door hardware .... all the things that an extra hundred thousand miles brings.

for the accord the best swap is the vtec H22 which come in the prelude si, i would seriously recomend to swap to a manual since honda automatic tranny r not that reliable let alone work wit a modified engine

MAN IF U REALLY LOVE UR CAR DROP IN A H22-VTEC AND DROP IT ON SOME 18'S i have a 96 vtec ex automatic with 196k miles i hate to admit but what BILL said is true i droped it 2" in front n 1.75" rear on 17"s and i have put more $$$ then i thought i would but thats cause i love my honda after i droped it had to get the whole suspension fix like axles iner n outer rods adjustable ball joints front n rear and every bushing and boot that was torn n i also have put new window motors n door hinges and a lot more stuff n so far its up 2 $900 n still putting more in 2 it like n H22 new interior new custom paint job n a nice sound system looking at $4000 not counting the $4000 i payed for it man this is the first time i counted all the cash i put in it n plan on putting in it man thats a big chunk of change but thats how much i love my car .well hope this helps but if you havent done any thing yet n dont realy care for your car go with BILLs idea but if u realy in 2 ur car just think u could end up with a total as high as mine or more
