My 91 honda civic has been great until a few months ago. Now, it is hard to start -- like it is not getting enough fuel, the fuel mixture is not right, or something is stopping the sparks. The starter and battery are trying like champs (15-20 cranks), but it doesn't catch. FYI, fuel filter was changed less than 4,000 miles ago.
Then, when and if it does catch, it can stall at lights, and even sometimes while moving. Sometimes I can stop the stall by flooring the gas. But most often, the stall will happen even if I push the gas to the floor or pump it like crazy. This problem is not consistent. Sometimes it is fine, starting up and running perfectly, and then whammo. Help! What are the likely culprits? And which should I check first? |
