Default Can you keep a cold air intake as a short ram if the whole doesn't fit?

My uncle and I both have a 2001 Honda Civic EX, his is manual transmission and mine is automatic. He let me have his AEM intake as long as its an even swap for my stock intake. My stock intake fit in his car no problem, however, the long piece of the AEM intake doesn't fit in my car because my transmission is bigger. But if I were to cut it to make it fit down there it would be kind of pointless as it would just get all the hot air and the fan would just blow the hot air right onto the filter. Now my question is: Would it be wise to use the smaller piece of the pipe as short ram or just buy the AEM V2 dual chamber intake?

no no no dont listen to mister "certified" over there

if you want to swap out your stock intake with an aftermarket your gonna get better gas mileage with the cold air set up

for sure

and as far as the tranies being different size..i have dont pleant of trans and clutch swaps on hondas wether they are manual or auto and the size is all the same. only difference is the cables and shit but the trans itself is the same exact size *how do you think they'd be interchangable if they werent*
