I just took my car to the dealer and I am currently being told I need to have the O2 sensor replaced I am not positive if its the front or the rear sensor but I am being told it will cost $365 for parts and labor this price sounds ridiculous to me. I want to know if this is a fair price and if I should have the work done

go to any auto prts site...advance...auto zone..my fave rockauto.com and price both o2 dendsors...when you see the low prices and realise it takes 15 to 20 min to replace them you will see your right about the rip off...try and ask friends..co workers .who runs a good non dealer shop....try asking a used auto sales place...they often have a place that works flat rate on any make..

It does sound expensive, but maybe not. Get several opinions/quotes, and price the part at an auto parts store. You can confirm the need for a new O2 sensor, and maybe even which one it is, at most auto parts stores for free. Although it needs attention, not replacing the O2 sensor immediately will not result in catastrophic engine failure.

You got overpriced bad!!!!!!!!! You can buy a new O2 sensor for like $40 bucks at your local autoparts store. As far as labor, I would only charge maybe $100 depending on which sensor it is. Front or back. The front is the easiest to change so the labor shouldn't be as high. Now it could be more if it is the back sensor.

You can buy an OEM Bosch 02 sensor for under $100 at Advance Auto, make sure you get the one with the connector already attached so it just plugs right in to the harness.
If you don't have a special socket for removing the sensor, you can use a 6 point 22mm deep socket, just cut the wire off the old sensor first. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the new one. Crack the old sensor loose quickly so it comes out without stripping. It might help to have the exhaust pipe hot from running the motor. |

even aftermarket, a denso sensor is over $200. i've replaced numerous bosch sensors someone else installed. worked fine for a few months. hondas are very sensitive to o2 sensors. universals are a waste of money. denso makes the oem, and it's the only one i'd put in.
