I was thinking about getting a vtec head then getting the vtec ECU. But what else do I have to do? and is this possible. I'm a newb so any help would be nice thx.
I was thinking about how easy it was for someone to jack it. I might have to put up some security later on. |

its not to hard to do first just get a alarm system and make sure ur car is always locked lol. now for the "swap" you would need a vtec head, ecu, make sure u got the vtec silinod, and u will have to run the wires to your ecu to make sure the vtec kicks on and such or just get a new wire harness but it is deff. possible dont listen to the guy above me civics are nice cars i say go for it bro.

[QUOTE=sensesfail2490;313360]I was thinking about getting a vtec head then getting the vtec ECU. But what else do I have to do? and is this possible. I'm a newb so any help would be nice thx.
I'm doing this swap right now in my 1993 civic. I assume you have the d16a6 (1.6L) or the d15z1 (1.5L vtec-e) Either way, this is what you need..... -vtec head complete with cam and valves etc, vtec sileniod (sorry for the spelling), obd1 ecu (preferably p28), vtec water pump, timing belt, vtec distributor, intake manifold with throttle body. You'll need to tap an oil line to feed the vtec. You'll want to change the head gasket too. You can use you exsiting valve cover if the head doesnt come with one. You'll probably have the get the ecu re-mapped. Good luck, keep us posted how it turned out. |
